It's been a while...

It's been quite a while since I last posted on here so I thought I might owe you an explanation, that is if anyone actually cares. It's GCSE year for me and - scrap that, that's barely an excuse, I've had lots of free time and I'm not going to lie, I'm going to use the reason that most of the cretins in my school use to explain why they haven't done their homework, I forgot. What any teenager would tell you (and they're lying), is that they were busy studying for a certain exam etc etc. But what they fail to mention is that they are trying and failing at that.

When trying to revise for a subject you don't like, you feel like EVERY little thing in your room is on a mission to distract you, for example today I was trying to revise for a physics exam and these were my distractions:

  • A bird chirping outside- I taped up the edges of my window (-5 minutes)
  • My desk had permanent marker on it- Got the Cif out (-5 minutes)
  • I was hungry- Made some pasta (-15 minutes)
  • I realised I didn't know where my phone was- went searching (-10 minutes)
  • My bed wasn't made- Made it (- 2 minutes)
  • Floor was cluttered- Tidied (-20 minutes)
  • My carpet had crumbs on it- Did vaccuming (-10 minutes)
  • Clothes that needed washing were on the floor- put them in the wash (-3 minutes)
The moral of the story is, tell a child to revise for a test and they'll spend an hour and 10 minutes tidying their room.

What's all that about?

Okay so recently I've been noticing the way a few people at my school behave. You may know the type of people I'm talking about. The ones who go to Afflecks on weekends, who straighten their hair so much it sticks to their foreheads and who clog up your tumblr dashboard with emotional pictures of them with their head down and middle finger to the camera. Well my school is full of people like that, and just so I'm clear, I have no problem with these types of people but I'm interested to know why they are so obsessed with being different. Now I'm all for standing out from the crowd and being unique, but shoving your opinions down other peoples throats is a different story. You see their Facebook statuses, for example:

*girl wears guys clothes*Society: no one cares , doesn't really make a difference*guy wears girls clothes*Society: thats messed up. Total freak. What a fag THIS. IS. PURE. SEXISM.

I don't understand why these are necessary, I understand that people want to get the word out that people need to start getting used to seeing things that aren't the norm, but doing it over and over again it gets a bit annoying. In my opinion if I was them, I would think 'screw what they think, their opinion doesn't matter' and move on. If they don't get it once they won't get it again. They need to understand that this is a cruel world and people aren't always going to agree with them.

People that are like this are usually really nice people, but this is a side of them I'm very curious of so if anyone wants to shed any light on this, I welcome all opinions. Also if anyone has any topics they'd like me to talk about, let me know in the comment section.

Thanks for reading!

Over analysing much?

Okay, so lately I have realised how everyone seems to want to over analyse everything. In my English class all my teacher ever talks about is analysing things. Why do we feel the need to do this? What is it that possesses us to fully understand and know about things. Is it our natural urge to be in the know of important/unimportant things? I for one feel like it can sometimes be a bad thing, as some things should remain a wonder and a mystery like who the mother is in How I Met Your Mother and if Rachel and Ross ever got married again. Just thought I'd share my thoughts on it! Let me know what you think?

New plan

So I forgot to write a blog yesterday, that helped me realise that I probably won't be able to write a blog everyday, so I figured I would just write one whenever I have any ideas. Because if I try and force myself to think of something I'll just end up writing a load of jibber-jabber. But I'm sure I'll still write a few posts a week, as I have a lot of time to think on a Wednesday morning in double maths, I'll just brainstorm ideas then.

So on with the second half of this post, recently I entered a local photography competition (based on local wildlife), and my friend had also entered the competition a few days before. When she found out I had entered the competition we shared the photos we'd taken with each other and we realised we'd taken pictures of very similar things, and my friend said I'd copied her, so I put up the usual argument, 'I didn't even know you'd entered...blah...blah...blah'. Eventually she went back to her usual maturity levels and we made a truce. Yes that was very he said this, she said that but my question is, is copying really that bad? Is it not just seeing something, liking the idea and using it. I'm not questioning copyrights or anything. But is it not just an immature habit for us to think 'well it my idea and I had that first so they can't have it'. Obviously if there is money or serious credit involved then it's different.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks

Blackberry Madness

Last year Blackberry sold over 100 million Blackberries, everywhere you go now, there is someone's eyes fixed onto a Blackberry screen, so I hear you ask, why is this? Well my theory is, there are 2 types of people that have and use Blackberries
1-People who actually use them for their proper use, email and as a business phone
2-People who are ridiculously attached to social networking, texting and gossiping

You can easily tell these 2 types apart, type 1's only look at their phone when it rings or they get an email etc. They are mostly adults. Whereas type 2's are constantly checking, no matter if they get an alert or not. They are  mostly teenagers who, are most of the time, girls.

I think there is nothing wrong with type 1's as this is for their job. But type 2's simply do not need a Blackberry, they do not NEED to be bbming their friends. Yes, it's fine to text your friends but to be permanently attached by the hands to your phone and constantly tap tapping away on the keyboard 24/7 is just pure unhealthy.

I think, in the case of teenage girls (being one myself) when one girl walks past another or a group, even if they are the same age, depending on self-confidence levels they feel threatened. So as a result they get their phone out and use it as their 'shield', it's almost as if it is their passport to blend in and be 'cool.

Just thought I'd give this ago since I was thinking about it the other day.

Tell me what you think about this post and comment below and if you enjoyed reading this, please follow me!

Me

Now I will try not to write about myself too much throughout this blog but this one (i feel) has to be about me just so I know you guys get the jist of who I am but basically leaving out my name and age etc. And I have tried to make it as interesting as possible. So here we go:

Slightly weird/nerdy things I like doing:
-Watching the big bang theory
-Buying nerdy t-shirts that have star wars quotes on them
-Going on the Topshop website only to view clothes that I wish I could afford
-Watching easy A over and over because I wish my personality could be more like Olive Penderghast
-Singing to myself (a lot)

Guilty pleasures:
-Blogging (that one is purely for if any of my friends see this (they would have a field day))
-90210
-Made In Chelsea (c'mon, at least its not TOWIE)
-Adding words to my Microsoft Word dictionary that I think should be there such as: my name, Topshop, Blogging, Haribo etc.

Things I really hate:
-When people say YOLO (yes you do only live once, so go and find a life to live you sheep (and I will never add yolo to the dictionary, it can stay sat on top of that little red line))
-People who make comments that make you feel awkward
-The fact I cannot spell awkward and have to use spell check every time
-People who only see negative sides to things

So I think I better leave it at that before I bore you, also I'm running low on ideas for my next few posts, so comment with ideas and tell me what you think etc!

Write tomorrow! Lamtumirë (Goodbye-Albanian) :)

Givin it a go...

I'm just going to start out by saying the obvious in my mind, I have no idea what I'm doing (hence the title), the reason at this moment in time why I'm doing this is purely because this summer can't be like the last, I can't sit around making an ass print in my couch watching episodes of The Big Bang Theory all day, getting seriously depressed at the fact that my friends all say they are 'busy' when in my mind they are all just introverts* that have social issues. There are many huge downsides to being an extrovert**, when all your friends are introverts, basically you just don't feel as happy when on your own compared to when you're with other people, having parents that work full time isn't the best either, it means constantly getting buses everywhere and after being on a dirty old bus with old people giving you dirty looks because you are youth and because of that they automatically class you as being the one that got an old can of spray paint and vandalised their local bowling clubhouse, it never seems quite worth it just to see a friend. So until the end of summer this year this blog will be my 'friend' and before you say it, yes that is very sad, but hey at the end of the day, you're the one that has time to read up to this point in this so far not-so-interesting blog. I am going to attempt to do a blog a day, but because (and I may not have put it across quite yet, considering the point of this blog) I actually do have a life so that probably wont happen. But hey I can try. Before I finish this thing, I just want to say my inspiration to start a blog was Mark Zuckerburg (and yes, I did have to look up how to spell that) so if you have any complaints about my blog, go to him because its all his fault. And no I don't want to be the creator of some billion-dollar social networking site when I'm older I want to be a writer, so I'm trying to figure out how to do that exactly. I would have thought to make a vlog on you tube as I am a fan of such people like Charlie McDonnell but I don't think I'm quite that tolerant of embarrassment at this point in my life and I highly doubt people want to see me stand awkwardly in front of a camera talking about my life. So I guess I'll write tomorrow.  Totsiens! (Goodbye- Afrikaans)

*someone who receives all their positive energy from being alone with their own thoughts
**someone who receives all their positive energy from being around other people (opposite to introvert)

Please comment and tell me what you think!
